Bridge Healing
Bridge Healing provides transitional accommodation and support to unhoused individuals discharged from Edmonton emergency departments, working to improve health outcomes and reduce pressure on acute care.
This evaluation report—prepared by Recovery Alberta and Alberta Health Services—highlights promising results, including a 76% reduction in emergency department visits and a 69% reduction in inpatient hospital stays among clients discharged to stable housing.
These outcomes reflect the strength of the individuals we serve, the advocacy of Dr. Louis Francescutti, and the commitment of staff delivering care every day. We invite you to explore the full report to learn more about how housing and healthcare can come together to drive meaningful, measurable change.

A Critical Examination of Good Neighbour Plans
The Edmonton Social Planning Council (ESPC) interviewed experts working inthe development and operation of affordable housing in order to learn how theyunderstand GNPs within their own work. This report will describe what theyunderstand the function of GNPs to be, as well as the impacts they have on theirorganizations, tenants of affordable housing, community building, and widerefforts towards equity, diversity, and anti-racism. Ultimately, this study willoutline housing providers’ perspectives on whether or not GNPs are actuallyneeded when developing affordable housing in Edmonton, and if there arebetter ways of engaging with one’s neighbours.
