What We Do

A Holistic Vision for Community Support

Our Core Initiatives

  • Housing First Approach
Since 2009, we have been dedicated to the Housing First approach, which is grounded in the belief that everyone deserves a safe and stable home as a foundation for rebuilding their lives.

Our Housing First initiative is supported by a dedicated team of support workers and housing outreach workers,
funded through the Government of Alberta and Homeward Trust Edmonton.

Our housing outreach workers are available at the Mustard Seed West location every Thursday morning to provide housing support. If you or someone you know needs assistance, please come by for support.

  • Affordable Housing
We own and manage a diverse portfolio of affordable housing units across Edmonton. These properties are designed to meet the needs of those facing financial challenges, offering safe, comfortable living spaces that are accessible to a broad spectrum of the community.

Our affordable housing options are listed on platforms like Facebook Marketplace and Rent Faster to ensure visibility and accessibility.

While we are committed to maintaining and managing our current affordable housing portfolio, our primary focus is on expanding our Healing House model. This innovative approach aims to enhance our housing options and provide even more comprehensive support to those in need.

  • Program-Based Housing

We offer specialized housing solutions designed to support individuals with unique needs through our program-based housing initiatives. Currently, our two key programs are:

Bridge Healing: Utilizing our innovative Healing House design, this program provides transitional housing and comprehensive support services for individuals being discharged from 5 Edmonton Emergency Departments.  Bridge Healing focuses on helping residents stabilize their lives and transition to permanent housing with tailored assistance and resources. Funded through Alberta Health Services.

Canora Place: This program offers supportive housing with integrated services for individuals who require additional support in maintaining their housing.

  • Social Purpose Businesses
To further our mission, we operate social-purpose businesses that create employment opportunities and generate revenue. These businesses not only contribute to our financial sustainability but also help integrate community members into the workforce, providing valuable skills and experience.
